Artist's Statement:
During the past three years I have created a series of paintings and drawings entitled Union. I've produced a repertoire of shapes and colors that are a symbolic, graphic representation of our era's underlying theme: union.

My compositions seek to highlight and elaborate in pictorial language the increasing degree to which disparate social, political, and economic forces are coming together. Despite formidable obstacles, traditional barriers of time, distance, and culture are falling at an accelerating rate. This joining, or union, of opposites is a fundamental structural truth in nature and is manifesting itself in human affairs more than ever before. Global integration is upon us.

I want the viewer to see, realize, and embrace an awareness of the possibilities of union. By being conscious of the larger context in which we all exist the chances for understanding and positive action grow. I hope the Union series can be a sign along the way.
